On foot in Suffolk

The South and Heart of Suffolk Walking Festival takes place from14th May - 6 June this year. The full programme has not yet been finalised but will include a marathon-length walk, free of charge, on the first day starting from Alder Carr Farm, near Needham Market. For the less experienced or committed, there will be a wide range of shorter themed events including costumed walks around the medieval village of Lavenham; a tour of Lavenham Airfield which was used by the USAAF in WWII; a walk around Stowmarket, starting at the Museum of East Anglian Life; a walk around Thornham Woods with a professional photographer who will give valuable tips for aspiring landscape photographers; a poetry walk around Chelsworth and many more fun and unusual walks.
